Aircraft Mechanic Collegiate Program NCTC

North Central Texas College (NCTC), in partnership with US Aviation Academy, offers a comprehensive FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) maintenance training program designed to prepare students for high-demand careers in aircraft maintenance. Eligible students can utilize FAFSA and other government financial aid options, including grants and scholarships, to help fund their education. This partnership provides an affordable pathway to obtaining an associate degree and FAA certification in as little as 16 months.

Aviation Airframe Maintenance Certificate (30 Credits)

This certificate can be completed through a mix of face-to-face, hybrid, and online classes. The program is designed to take one year or two semesters and consists of the following courses. This level one certificate is hosted at the US Aviation Academy facility located in Denton, Texas.

Aviation Power plant Maintenance Certificate (33 Credits)

The certificate can be completed through a mix of face-to-face, hybrid, and online classes. The program is designed to take a year and a half or three semesters and consists of the following courses. This level one certificate is hosted at the US Aviation Academy facility located in Denton, Texas.

Aviation Maintenance Associates Degree

This degree can be completed through a mix of face-to-face, hybrid, and online classes. The program is designed to take one year or two semesters and consists of the following courses. All of the technical courses required are hosted at the US Aviation Academy facility located in Denton, Texas. Academic courses will be offered primarily at the NCTC Denton Campus.

How to Apply for Aircraft Mechanic Collegiate Program with NCTC

STEP 1 – APPLY

Apply online at www.applytexas.org

STEP 2 – SUBMIT YOUR TRANSCRIPTS

  • Request official high school transcripts from your previous high school
  • If you earned a GED, request official GED scores
  • If you didn’t earn a GED or graduate from high school move on to the next step!
  • If you have received college credit from another institution, request your official transcripts from all previous colleges/universities you have attended
  • Electronic Official transcripts will only be accepted directly from the institutions of education. They can be sent to [email protected]

STEP 3 – TSI ASSESSMENTS OR EXEMPTIONS

  • Degree Majors
    • Review the TSI exemptions
    • Or take the TSI test
  • Certificate Majors
    • Move to Next Step

STEP 4 – PROOF OF MENINGITIS VACCINATION

    • If you are younger than 22, submit proof of a meningitis vaccination or exemption/waiver.
